The farce in the Israeli courts:

15 months of prison for an Israeli policeman who killed a Palestinian

An Israeli jurist has recently sentenced Israeli policeman Shahar Mizrahi (29 years) 15 months of prison, plus an additional fifteen months as a suspended sentence, after he was convicted of murdering an Arab youth Mahmud Abu Sunneh.

"In the court we have witnessed a real farce showing the heedlessness of the Israeli authorities towards the Arabs and the contempt of their blood. Racism in this country is being supported and motivated by the decision makers themselves", said the family of Abu Sunneh.

 

 

 

 

 

The Israeli government approves a plan to impose teaching of Zionist conceptions in schools and encourage recruitment in the army


In its recent weekly assembly, the Israeli government approved the plan of Gideon Sa'aar the education minister, aiming at education improvement and deepening the Zionist conceptions in schools.
The minister declared his intention to add a new obligatory subject to be taught in schools from fourth till ninth grades. The new subject "Heritage of Judaism and Zionism" will consist -amongst others- of teachings about Saturdays, prayers, synagogues, and holidays, as well as the Israeli national anthem, declaration of independence, Israeli flag, yearning for Zionism, the Law of return, Jerusalem as the Israeli capital, and immigration and settlement.
Minister Sa'aar emphasized that all schools will teach Hatikva (Israeli anthem) to solidify its values in the pupils' hearts.
Pupils will also be taught about historical Jewish figures like RAMBAM (Rabbi Moshe Ben Mimon), RASHI (Rabbi Shlomo Ben Yitzhak) and Theodor Hertzel.

The Arab Education Follow-up Committee has announced disobedience in case these racist decisions are implemented in Arab schools.

 


 

 

The occupation forbids prisoners from dawn prayer meetings


Ministry of prisoners and liberated affairs in the Palestinian lands reported that 900 prisoners in Ofer jail are facing a new provocation procedures by the Israeli prison's service, as they were officially told by the prison's administration that they will be disallowed to perform the dawn prayer collectively in the prison's yard.

In the ninth anniversary of Al Aqsa Intifada: General strike and a central regional demonstration inside the green line


The secretary of the High Follow-up committee of the Palestinians inside the green line has announced a general strike in the ninth anniversary of Al Aqsa uprising which meets 1/10/2009. A central unitary demonstration will be held in the village of Arraba in the Galilee, besides the local demonstrations and activities in the 48 territories, particularly in the villages and cities which witnessed falling martyrs during Al Aqsa uprising in the beginning of October 2000, killed in cold blood by the Israeli police.


 


The occupation demolished 58 houses in Al Quds this year


New statistics published by Jerusalem Center for Social and Economic Rights reveal that the Jerusalem municipality of the occupation and members of the civil administration of the occupation army have since the beginning of 2009 demolished 58 houses, of them 20 houses were forcibly demolished by their Palestinian owners for fear of prison and very high demolition costs if done by the Israeli's bulldozers.

Management of Ofer prison forces Al Quds women to take their clothes off in order to visit their relative prisoners


A human rights organization inside the green line demanded the Israeli Prison Service and the management of Ofer jail to immediately seize the humiliating body inspection of Palestinians in Ofer prison, especially residents of eastern Al Quds, as a condition to be permitted to visit their relatives inside the prison.

The human rights organization released a letter representing two Arab women from eastern Jerusalem who were obliged to give up visiting their relatives in the prison after they rejected such a humbling inspection.

 
according to the letter, these two women went to Ofer prison to visit their relatives, and after a long journey of routinely inspection, one of the guards ordered them to enter a nearby room and take all their clothes off. When they entered the room they noticed a window shared with another room, where members of the prison's staff sat. Few moments later, they heard the voice of female guard ordering them to get completely naked, but the two women refused that and decided to give up the visit.


 


200 thousand worshippers in the second Jum'aa prayer of Ramadan in Al Aqsa


Al Aqsa Association for Waqf and Heritage said that close to 200 thousand people have participated in the second Jum'aa prayer of Ramadan in Al Aqsa mosque, mostly coming from Jerusalem and the 48 territories, and few from the West bank. This, in a midst of vast Israeli restrictions around the holy city and surrounding Al Aqsa mosque.

Al Bayariq association for revivification of Al Aqsa mosque reported that it has last Friday dedicated more than 160 buses to carry worshippers from all Arab villages and cities inside the green line to Al Aqsa.
