The Brothers Mohammed and Eimad Jamal Attiya from the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem, were attacked on December 18 by settlers escorted by the occupation police near their home, which is close to the Al-Kurd and Al-Ghawi seized houses, and survived with several bruises all over their bodies.
The settlers escorted with Israeli police for protection broke without further warning into the house of Jamal Attiya house and attacked his wife and stoned his two sons Mohammad (16) and Eimad (13) causing them bruises in their waists and legs.
Um Hasan Sabbagh a female eyewitness said:" I saw the settlers breaking into the house of Attiya family and throwing stones at them while they were in and I saw the police regional officer together with the Salah Al-Din police station director watching the scene and preventing any one from assisting and rescuing the family from attackers."
At a time when settlers began provoking the population, a number of residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood started praying in the courtyard of the house of Refka Al-Kurd which was seized by the fundamental settlers, in the interim settlers started distracting and hackling the worshippers in front of the police eyes, but the worshippers paid no heed to the settlers.
It is to mention that it was planned that more than 500 peace activists will attend the house in solidarity with the arab families who their houses were seized by fundamental settlers, but the police forces who allowed the settlers attack against the Attiya family blocked the progress of the peace activists towards Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood by erecting police barricades.
